what we believe
If you're looking for a new church home or if you're new to Christianity, then you probably want to know exactly what we believe at Northwest Church (NWC). Here's a look at our Doctrine of Faith. In other words, here's what we believe about the Bible, God, Jesus, and other essentials.
SCRIPTURE
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
God
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons, whose work is distinct and harmonious.
Jesus
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son and in His absolute deity. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was bodily resurrected, ascended into heaven, where He intercedes for His people and will personally and visibly return to earth.
SALVATION
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by conduct, and are therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who admit their sin and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the body of Christ and Jesus is the Head. All regenerated persons are members of His body. We believe that God has laid upon the Church the primary task of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.
CHRISTIAN CONDUCT
We believe that a Christian should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ, which will bring glory to God and well-being to his fellowman.
