parents, can we talk?

We want to start by saying thanks for encouraging your kids to check out the Jr. High Ministry. It's a great place to have some fun in a safe and productive environment. Living in a world dominated by materialism, sex, and drugs makes it tough to be a Christian teenager. That's why, we don't just teach our students God's word, we teach them how to apply it to their lives. We want to give them the tools to deal with the relevant issues of today.

Being intentional

Our group meetings are designed in stages to engage students and help them feel comfortable. This process prepares them to hear and understand more about God and the Bible.

• icebreaker - to get everyone excited about being there
• live worship - it's usually pretty loud and always focused on Jesus
• the message - the Word of God is made alive in a practical way for these tweens and teens every week.
• small groups - After the message, the students break up into their small groups to hang out and talk about the message. Students are assigned to their small groups at the end of summer and stay with those groups throughout the year. This helps the students create lasting friendships with their leaders and their peers so they can feel more at home with us.

Junior High is led by a team of dedicated leaders. We always meet an hour before group to discuss students' needs and strategize about the activities and message for the night. We are a fun group, but we're also responsible and safe. We want you to know that we may encourage and direct students on how to improve their relationships, but we will never come between a parent and their child.

People are often surprised to discover that jr. high students love coming to church not just because it's fun! Sure they have friends here, but they are also interested in learning the truth about God and His love for us.
