Addams Elementary School

Northwest Church is partnering with Addams Elementary School in several ways.

Saturday Sports - Join with Studio 56 from Northwest Church to interact with kids from 9:00am - 11:00am for 12 Saturdays in the Fall or 12 Saturdays in the Spring. Classroom Volunteer - Teachers at Addams do not have aides and parent participation does not meet the needs there. You pick the grade, the day, and the time. CARE Fresno

Northwest Church is partnering with CARE Fresno to offer after school tutoring and assistance in a structured environment in a neighborhood targeted by Mayor Ashley Swearingen. We are looking for people who want to help kids with homework, sports, reading, games. The time frame will be after school and you can choose what day works best for you Monday through Thursday. A mobile home park near Addams Elementary on McKinley Ave. is letting us use their large recreation room with existing tables, chairs, etc. Materials such as games and tutoring supplies will be available. GAP Ministries

An outreach program where small groups and individuals can bless the elderly.

Visit a senior in a nursing home

Adopt a nursing home – send birthday cards to the residents
Lead a Bible study for those who can not attend a regular service

Musical Talent – if you play an instrument, come and share with the residents

Valley Teen Ranch

Landscaping – staking trees, trimming bushes, mowing, fixing sprinklers and drip (Equipment and supplies are provided)
Replace Fence – Steel posts and chicken wire, materials supplied.
Wash exterior windows at the Shaw Ave office
Interior painting – at the Transitional House located by Fashion Fair

World Impact

Cookie Bakers - Our club kids look forward to treats at Bible Club. For some, this is the only place they get to have home-baked goodies. Teen Mentors - Mentors with a love for teenagers are needed who have a desire to help them find self-worth and identity as God’s children. They spend one to two hours a week with a teen building a discipleship relationship and studying God’s Word together. (World Impact) Sonshine Thrift Store - We are looking for volunteers to:

Sort items at least one Tuesday a month between 7:30am and 11:30am
Help with running the store at least one week day a month 9:30am to 2:00pm
Help with Super Saturday sales, 2nd Saturday of month 8:30am 12:30pm
Donate clothing, household items and furniture

Summer Staff - In addition to neighborhood Bible clubs, and teen swim outreaches, we take inner-city children, teens, and families to camp at The Oaks, World Impact’s conference center at Lake Hughes, just north of Los Angeles. College students with a heart to serve in the city can apply for summer staff. This is great hands-on experience for those who want to explore urban ministry. Youth For Christ

City Life Clubs – families are encouraged to come and participate with the YFC staff at Friday Nights City Life Club.
