Small groups are a way of life at Northwest Church. We make a big deal about connecting with people through small groups because we're a big church and it's hard to get to know people if you just come on Sundays. You see, we were created to live in community and that means having people around that will support you through the ups and downs of life. But small groups have many other benefits too.
Here are a few things people have shared with us about their small group experience.
"My small group helps me understand the message better. We answer the questions on the back of the sermon notes and so I learn more about the teaching from Sunday. It helps me to get to know God better."
"When my 3-year-old grandson came down with cancer my small group was there to support me, pray with me, cry with me and encourage me. I am so grateful for this group of men and women."
"We have so much fun with our small group. Our kids are the same age and we have lots in common. We talk about parenting, go to baseball games, cook together, laugh together and just enjoy life."
"I was nervous at first to join a small group and when I tried it I really didn't click with the women. But there was no pressure when I didn't come back, I just tried another group and the second group was great."

Small groups work on the quarter system and sign ups are called on-ramps. The idea is that you can take the on ramp to join a group 3 times a year. You also have the option of an easy off-ramp.
Here's how it works:
- Pick up a catalog in the Fall
- Choose an open group that you would like to join.
- Come to church to sign up for a group.
- Online sign up is available during the week.
That's it - your leader will call you and give you details.
